Kenneth Mettel was promoted to senior vice president, planning and analysis in April 2011. Earlier, he served as the company's vice president-strategy and planning. Prior to joining United Rentals in 2001, Mr. Mettel held senior management positions with International Paper as vice president, strategic planning, and with Unilever as director of financial analysis. His previous experience includes five years as finance manager, U.S. Toys with Mattel, Inc.
