About The National Assocation of Women in Construction
The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) was founded in Fort Worth in 1953 by by Doris Efird and 15 other women working in the construction industry. United Rentals supports and benefits from NAWIC's dedication and expertise.

NAWIC, with a membership of more than 5,500 in 179 chapters in nearly every U.S. state, pursues the goal of enhancing the success of women in the construction industry.

Since 1996, NAWIC has seen growth internationally, with the signing of International Affiliation Agreements with NAWIC-Australia, NAWIC-New Zealand, South African Women in Construction, NAWIC-United Kingdom and in 2006, with the Canadian Women in Construction (CAWIC).
United Rentals shares NAWIC's objectives:

Uniting (for the mutual benefit) women actively engaged in various phases of the construction industry
Promoting cooperation, fellowship and a better understanding among members of the Association
Promoting education and contributing to the betterment of the construction industry
Encouraging women to pursue and establish construction industry careers
Providing members an awareness of the construction industry-related legislative process
