He's been there
As a former contractor, George Barnum has been in the pits, at the excavation sites, and at the wheel. Before that, he taught at West Point and served with the Army Corps of Engineers. After 11 years with us, customers know they can implicitly trust his expertise, and that trust is key to all his customer relationships. "It's a great feeling knowing you're part of the team and getting things done," he says. He recalls one customer who thanked the branch for its above-and-beyond assistance with the flooding of a local institution with a huge delivery of freshly picked vegetables from the customer's own garden.
As well as being the Assistant Branch Manager, George is also the branch safety and training officer. He's mentored generations of employees. The team's camaraderie is important to him, and he's taken them on deep-sea charters to fish for (and catch!) tuna, striped bass, and shark.
